The Guitar Club

The Terre Haute Guitar Club

The Terre Haute Guitar Club is a collaboration between the Community School of theArts and the Blues at the Crossroads Festival. The Terre Haute Guitar Club offers unique learning experiences for children ages 5 and up, teens and adults. Our teachers - extraordinary guitarists and players themselves - lead this program using a fun, multi-layered and accessible approach to learning guitar through guitar classes and lessons.

Guitar Club students are placed in age-appropriate labs that meet throughout the week. As students progress through the program, they learn to develop technical skills on the guitar while learning to understand and properly apply musical concepts. Students are given the opportunity to learn songs, all while building a connection with rhythmic, melodic and harmonic ideas. As students gain more confidence in and dedication to their practice, they are able to take one-on-one lessons with one of our trained instructors.

All Guitar Club students are given opportunities to perform with their peers during various recitals and community public performances.

The Terre Haute Guitar Club is for beginning to intermediate levels, offering an opportunity for students to learn to play the guitar and create music while working with a group of peers. Students work on guitar techniques and musical concepts through engaging games and activities. Guitars are supplied to students in-class.

This summer, our Guitar Club classes for ages 5-8, 9-12 and 13-16 are free of charge and will be held at the Vigo County Public Library. Enrollment will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
