Tree Campus USA

Tree Campus USA is a project of the Arbor Day Foundation to recognize colleges and universities across the United States that to promote healthy trees and student involvement with campus urban forests. The program was initiated in 2008, and ISU has been named a Tree Campus USA every year since its inception, for a total of 7 recognitions.

The program's five core standards for effective campus forest management, to which ISU is held, are:
  • A tree advisory committee
  • A campus tree-care plan
  • Dedicated annual expenditures for campus tree programs
  • An Arbor Day observance
  • Student service-learning projects
