Aquaponics: Sustainable, Productive Food Systems
Heritage Ballroom, Second Floor, Tirey Hall
Mat Pollum, owner, Greener Scenes Aquaponics

Aquaponics, an all organic, 100% sustainable food production system, may be the future of agriculture. This seminar will explore how aquaponics combines traditional aquaculture with hydroponics in a symbiotic environment. Where the plants serve two purposes, the filtration of the water and the generation of an organically grown food crop while awaiting the harvest of the fish. Using aquaponics, garden fresh vegetables are available year round, while  natural resources are conserved. This presentation will also explain the may ways and methods that aquaponics can be incorporated into the home landscape as well as the garden.
